The Freak Brothers are a threesome of hippies (hippies were commonly known as "freaks" in 1970s U.S. slang) from San Francisco: Phineas Freakears, Freewheelin' Franklin, and Fat Freddy. The trio are anti-heroes, taking large quantities of drugs and consistently defying authority. They are lazy (several storylines revolve around the "horror" of one of the brothers having to find work) and unreliable — particularly in the case of Fat Freddy.

It started life as the emblem of an anti-nuclear movement then became an international sign for peace, easily the most widely used protest symbol in the world. Reefer use influenced the peace movement, while marijuana influenced the minds of the youth, who would rather think about love and flower power, then write, sing and discuss, how love and grass work for peace.
Singers and the songwriters of the sixtys and seventys brought us the rock-n-roll revolution, to drive home the notion that smoking grass made you cool, peaceful and want to love, live, and let love, or party.

She was a grand woman, that I had the great fun to have met, on her birthday in Miami some years ago. Surrounded by her wonderful family, as they sang happy birthday to her whilst she ate cake, sitting blissfully at her white baby grand piano.

I was walking down a street in Amsterdam on my way to Barney's Cafe, one of my favorite coffee shops and I saw a sign hanging over the street, saying "TH Seeds", which was the same brand I'd been introduced to the night before, during the launch party for Reefer Poker at the Bulldog Palace, so I stepped in to one of the coolest shops in all of Amsterdam.
My luck was running hot and the founder of TH Seeds was downstairs in his office working around a vaporizer with his collegues. I got to hang with the King of Cool in the Dam.

IF CANNABIS were unknown, and bioprospectors were suddenly to find it in some remote mountain crevice, its discovery would no doubt be hailed as a medical breakthrough. Scientists would praise its potential for treating everything from pain to cancer, and marvel at its rich pharmacopoeia—many of whose chemicals mimic vital molecules in the human body.
Proponents for the legal use of medical marijuana argue that marijuana has "accepted medical use in treatment in the U.S.," and that it would easily meet the FDA criteria over "whether a new product's benefits to users will outweigh its risks." Marijuana, they claim, is a safe and effective treatment for dozens of conditions, such as cancer, AIDS, multiple sclerosis, pain, migraines, glaucoma, and epilepsy. Proponents say that thousands of yearly deaths from legal prescription drugs could be prevented if marijuana were legal.

Reefer Poker Earth Day Tournament will plant a new tree in the Atlantic Forest for every player who registers to play, since I live near this famous forest I thought it would be a good idea to share some of my thoughts about the Atlantic Forest or Mata Atlantica as it's called here in Brazil.
Driving to the beach from Sao Paulo, Brazil, was my first view of this magnificent forest. The old road has been replaced by an ultra-modern highway that winds it's way down from the plateau through a series of tunnels and each time you re-immerge from the tunnel you get a new view and see more plants and waterfalls. Finally when you reach the bottom there's a wide stretch of marsh-looking estuaries that follow the coast and create one of the four unique eco-zones.

Thank you to Hemp Works (www.hempworks.nl) for making the Reefer Poker launch in Amsterdam such a great success. The professional team from Canaffco put together a great party at the Bulldog Palace, complete with lot's of gifts, some of which was smokable and some wearable. The most popular was the ball-cap, although the Tookes went over well and everyone loved the branded rolling papers, which do work perfectly (in case you're curious). Our guests really enjoy the Reefer Poker stickers, evidently, because we noticed them in Cafe's all over Amsterdam.

On April 2, there will be a hearing on the burdens U.S. financial institutions are facing in trying to comply with the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA). The hearing, "Proposed UIGEA Regulations: Burden without Benefit?" is expected to reinforce statements made in hundreds of comments previously submitted to the Department of the Treasury and Federal Reserve, that the ambiguity in the proposed rules to implement UIGEA could lead to a potential compliance trap for U.S. financial service companies.
Additionally, despite UIGEA's attempt to deter illegal Internet gambling activity, millions of Americans are likely to continue to circumvent the proposed regulations and gamble online with offshore operators.
