Kerlikowske as the White House Drug Czar makes for some interesting reading and he's getting lots of print since being confirmed on May 7th, as head the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (Drug Czar sounds better).
A quick check of Google news shows 321 articles in the past few days and today's top stories are from the OpEd of the NY Times, LA Times and Seattle Times all touting rhetoric about the "war on drugs" being over. Then Huffington Post has been covering the topics surrounding Mr. Kerlikowske as has NORML, taking issue to the recurring theme that pot is more potent than it used to be. My favorite on that topic was by AlterNet "The Media Doesn't Get That Hyping Potent Pot Makes More People Want to Smoke It"
Wall Street Journal published White House Czar Calls for End to 'War on Drugs' which elicited over 200 comments (including mine) but of all these great news organizations it had to be left to Steve Bloom of Celebstoner to do some actual reporting (rather than regurgitating White House blather) with his blog post "Kerlikowske's Dilemma" that actually provides some useful interesting information, which I shared on a Yahooka thread today.
