Hemp con is fraud. They are not part of the cannabis movement they are a tattoo expo trying to capitalize on the cannabis movement. You will get what you pay for, just don't think this is what the cannabis movement has been about. We are here for change and changing laws is what its all about. Freedom of choice for all humans.

(Sigh) Hello Everyone,
I wanted to apologize for Brian Roberts posting expressing his anger here regarding the Hemp Convention and THC Expose. In his comment "HempCon is a fraud". It's simply not true. There is nothing fraudulent about the Hemp Convention and Medical Marijuana Show. As the Executive Director of Beverly Hills NORML90210.org we would not associate our brand or organization with anything less than a professional organization. Mega Productions is the producer of the Hemp Convention and Medical Marijuana Show. They are a PROFESSIONAL trade show production company that has produced events for over 20 years. We checked them out through many references such as the LA Weekly, Cannabis Planet TV, LA Jemm and many others before joining them in the launching of this event. The producers are not medical cannabis patients, however, that has nothing to do with their ability to put on an amazing event that is professionally produced. The cannabis movement is led by people like us who are patients and activists. "WE" collectively are the movement. It's about all of us working together to spread the word. It is my believe that Brian Roberts was angry or frustrated when he wrote the comment above. For the record, I have had several very pleasant conversations with Brain Roberts regarding the THC Expose event that he is producing for April. I can report with the utmost confidence that there are no issues between us and we mutually support each other for "THE MOVEMENT". Anyone that has any questions or interest in learning more about Cannabis Activism is welcome to contact me directly at 310.717.0897. Let's stay positive! Positive energy attracts positive people.
As you are also aware, the Cannapalooza event in Las Vegas was cancelled today, so it's more important than ever that we stick together and work for Marijuana Law Reform.
Are you a member of Beverly Hills NORML90210.org? If not, then you should be :)
Respectfully,

We all want freedom of choice. Why is a plant considered a drug? You start with a seed and a pot of soil. Just add water and place in the sunlight.
Magically you have just produced an illegal drug. How are 800,000 people arrested in the US per year for marijuana if it was legal?
I'm tired of the whole, if all you really want to do is help the patient and get marijuana legal than thats all we should do. It's like because we are part of a movement that will benefit cancer and aids patients, we should not enjoy the product. Just stop and think how much money drug companies and western doctors make off us?! But no ones pointing a finger at them claiming that they don't want to help that they are just greedy.Cmon, they are even making up disorders to make money off us now!!! HSDD, Hyperactive Sexual Desire Disorder, lack of sexual fantasies, there is medication for that now, it's called get a new husband or watch some porn. haha... Marijuana is and will be a business enterprise. It's the way it works. Every field in the business world has trade shows. We aren't trying to make a profit off other peoples suffering so don't EVEN imply that. Working for a "weed" magazine, or owning a collective, it's a livelihood. What separates us from the legal drug world is we are passionate about what we believe are rights are weather we smoke it to laugh or to deal with dying. I don't know why your so jaded or so angry that we enjoy this movement and in the meantime people will suffer less, stoners won't have to do illegal things to smoke and some of us make a livelihood out of it. I can't believe such negative and child like comments coming from someone who made bank of the THC convention, unless it's not really you. Your not even making valid points. You hate stoners but I bet your a drunk!! No one stand outside a liquor store screaming at the people working there, YOUR ALL A BUNCH OF DRUNKS!! WEll, maybe, but you see my point. IF your not a drunk I bet you enjoy your pain killers! Only someone that jaded and angry is hiding something about themselves and makes you feel better to point a finger. And in the words of Forest Gump, "and that's all I have to say about that!"
We are a press agency and we produce news segments going out to over 32 French speaking countries worldwide (M6, Canal+ France TV, TV5 International, Rai Uno, LCI, etc...) in all over 54 Million viewers.
We do Celebs, Oscars, and you name it. The press person at Hempcon (hempcon420) has been way beyond unprofessional and rude, in our requests to get in touch with the executives or PR people for this event.
It was easier to get access to the WHite house, than to get to know how and where to file for press accreditations. And yes, event under George Bush, the WHite house was more friendly, than this organization.
We do not smoke and we are not trying to get a free entrance( as we do for these coverages) for this event. really. We just wanted to produce a great positive report about how the laws and regulations and the minds have changed in California, in regards to this plant. The second report was to compare with pharma industry...
We were treated like a bunch of free loading potheads...SO not only Hempcon has lost some great press (that they probably don't need) but also two paid entrance (myself and cameraman)
The main reason it is not legal like alchohal and cigarettes is because until recently they didnt think of a way to add taxes. Yes when it comes down to it is thats now why california and other states are trying to legalize it... with it being legalized not everyone is gona be legal to smoke. Just like alchohol there will be age limit (rumored to be 21 also) and it is 50 dllers added to every ounce and "street vendors" are still gona get fined
all that is for one reason the covernment knows that now they can collect on the marijuana industry and is finally going to try and except that more than 50% of america smokes cannibus on a daily bases these conventions are helping the industry grow
one for the advertising and prommting the business and clinics get for being at the convention
two many people barely get their medical license at these conventions
all in all is good idea and seeing as how i live close to LA im trying to go

Peace everyone, see you at Hemp-Con!
I'm excited about HempCon, it looks like they are way better organized than THC Expo. I attended THC Expo and I thought it was really amateur. The people at NORML we're smart to enlist the services of a professional event organization company, I hope this will produce a better, more professional result that what I saw at THC Expo.
This is your shot HempCon, show us what you got!
we need more jobs in the U.S, lets stop sending our money south, they have been making millions if not billions every year from the pockets of americans, we need everyone to vote yes so we can move forward and stop the dollars from flowing south.....
Me And The Rest of The HTGB Crew from www.howtogrowbud.com will be going on saturday, we should be bringing a couple ganja girls with us if anyone want to take some pictures with them or get a bong signed.
Hempcon is not a fraud. I was there yesterday and saw many outstanding exhibitors. The only frauds there WERE the scratchers (dreadful tattoo-wannabes with their dirty set ups doing cheap work for beer or bud). I used to work in the business and anyone who gets tattooed at ANY convention is asking for a case of Hep C. That's the one thing the tattooers at Hempcon will provide for free, I'm sure!

ONE LOVE
I was at Hemp con 2010 helping set up the vendor i was with and i was watching all the tat vendors pull all new supplys out, still in the packages. artwork on displays, you can sit and talk and they had all steryl equiptment. they were with a actual company, not just some greezy jerk trying to give people hep. its unfair if you dont know what you are talking about in regaurds to hempcon. it was wonderful. the speakers were wonderful. and we all had a wonderful time handing out papers and flyers trying to promote the leagal use of marajuana. and yes, were going to have to get away with saying "medical uses" first. but immagine why we do that, beacsue if we didnt leave that connotation of Medical use people that work for 420 evaluation, canabis planit tv, NORML, KUSH all thease orginazations that are advocates get in serous trouble. and so what if your not a card holder? you can still support the uses for medical. you can still help the movement. dont argue, just do.
WE ARE ALL ONE UNDER THE PLANT. ACTIVIST. WE SUPPORT THE CAUSE!
I enjoyed the exhibit to protect assets with steven sears attorney and he really got a good thing going for the small business start-up in this new industry
